CONCEPT

The Myklops® Concept

 How the Myklops® came about

The Myklops bicycle rear view mirror was conceived in Brighton, United Kingdom by Mark Jay in 2012. The idea came after considerable time searching for an alternative to fixing a mirror to the frame of a bike.

“For storage I hang my bikes on a wall mounting, hence anything fixed to handle bars would just get in the way!”

The Prototype

A prototype was built from household objects, just to prove the concept could work. Surprisingly, having a mirror mounted on your wrist, just like a watch, gave a great field of vision, it was the perfect place for a rear view mirror. Remember, a mirror is not just for observing vehicles to the rear, its a great way of keeping an eye on your cycling partner or group, making sure they are safe and still behind you!

The key

What distinguishes the Myklops® Rear View Mirror from other cycling or sports mirrors are the two internal arms that allow the mirror to be extended out from your wrist to give an ideal view to the rear. Additionally, with slight movements of the wrist or elbow you can achieve a greater viewing angle without taking your hand off the handlebar. The Myklops has granted patents in Europe and the USA.

The Myklops is available for £19.99 with free postage and packing from our online shop, or from Amazon Prime. Or why not ask your local cycling store to get in touch with us if they aren't already stocking the Myklops rear view mirror?
